Millennium Goal Was Best Says LT10

LT10: Millennium Moment Was The Best

Lee Trundle comes face to face with Carlisle United again tomorrow, eight months after his goal started Swansea on the path to victory in the Football League Trophy Final at the Millennium Stadium.

It was a perfect start for the Swans as Trundle volleyed home early on to calm Swansea nerves in a 2-1 victory that saw them return proudly with the Trophy. And Trundle claims it was one of, if not the best goal of his career "It's definitely right up there because of the angle I was at and the chest and the volley," says the 30-year-old. "There are a couple of goals I like, but considering the size of the game and the occasion, that's probably top of the list. "It was a great day out for the club and it was nice personally to get a goal like that. I've got the game on DVD and I watch it now and again to cheer myself up."

That goal was one of few highlights for Trundle in the past 12 months which have seen him go through police questioning for the after match celebrations at the Millennium Stadium as well as numerous injuries that have stopped him continuing the momentum that he had in the early days last summer.

"I had 17 at this stage last year, but saying that I tailed off after that. "I'm aiming to get over 20 this season and I'm confident I can do that.

"I wouldn't say I'm annoyed with how many goals I've got,. "But I have had chances where I've thought I should have scored and that I could have done better. "But as long as I keep getting the chances, I'm never going to let my head go down or lose my confidence because I'm not that type of player.

"If you go a couple of games without a goal you have to think that you're going to get a few in the next couple. That's the way I think."

Trundle is likely to partner Rory Fallon up front again tomorrow as the Swans look for the victory that could life them back into the play off zone.
