Dorus De vries says the Swans will learn the lessons of their Portsmouth defeat to bounce back against Ipswich

It was a second home defeat in three on Friday night for the Swans as they lost to Portsmouth but they have the chance to bounce back in front of the Sky TV cameras in the Saturday lunchtime clash at Ipswich.

And De Vries believes that is exactly what they will do as he told the Evening Post "As a team we should have done better in those situations.

"We were punished for it

"To concede before half-time was disappointing.

"We lost the ball, we were disorganised and they put in a great through ball in a quick counter and scored.

"Their second is from an easy free-kick and in my point of view it's another sloppy goal — very similar to the one we conceded at Doncaster.

"It was a free header and that shouldn't happen. We are too good a side to be giving away goals like that.

"They were both easily avoidable.

"In situations like this you have to learn from it and ensure it doesn't happen again.

"We have to take responsibility as a team and I know that we will not concede goals like that again.

"The team will bounce back because we have great belief in this club.

"We have done tremendously well as a team so far," said the 29-year-old. "It was a massive disappointment against Portsmouth because we could have prevented those goals.

"Everyone is looking forward to the Ipswich game because you want the next game to come quickly after you have suffered defeat.

"We know what we are fighting for and our focus is now on Ipswich and getting the right result.

"Every game we play in we know the strong points and weaknesses of our opponents, but the big thing is how we control things."
