Saints now have to build on the win at Hartlepool.

December will be a crucial month for Saints, they have six games and if they can get 12 points from them then it could set them up nicely for a New Years surge towards the playoffs.

To do that Saints have to maintain an average of 2 points a game and that does not leave them much scope to drop points.

So what better place to start than Wycombe at home, on paper at least the second easiest fixture at SMS, with only the next visitors to the ground teechnically easier, however if these two home games can give us a good springboard if we can win them, the others are certainly a little more tricky, but the fact is Saints just have to keep winning and if they do then they can start to put pressure on.

The problem is at the back, Saints need to start keeping clean sheets as this will take the pressure off the rest of the team, you always feel that one goal isnt a lot with Saints, the defence always seems to lose a little bit of concentration in games when they have, for most of it anyway, been tight.

Our opponents have been doing their homework and have realised that if you can get down the wing, we are slow on the flanks and early balls into the box often catch us unaware, Im sure Alan Pardew is aware of the problem, its just he doesnt have many options to solve it at present.

For the visit of Wycombe he will hopefully concentrate on our strengths and what has brought us the wins.

Personally I feel that we can put Wanderers to the sword, its time we gave someone a real hiding, so far we havent managed it, we have threatened it, indeed had the chances to do it, but we dont seem able to convert these chances into a real rout, at least not just yet.

So with the visit of Wycombe we have a real chance to do that and start a run of three games where we are very capable of gaining three wins, a few weeks ago we looked invincible, but the draw at Orient followed by the home defeat to Brighton put some uncertainty in the side, the confidence returned at Hartlepool, we need to continue that and forge on.
