Now Williams wants his day in court over "dirty Leeds" email claims
Saturday, 30th Nov 2013 06:48

Our former technical director Gwyn Williams intends to sue Leeds United for unfair dismissal after he was sacked for allegedly sending "lewd and obscene" emails to our former manager Dennis Wise. This comes just days after Ken Bates said he was taking the club to court over his own controversial departure.

Bates is reportedly after £1m compensation following his departure last July from his role as club president, he was fired less than a month over a row over his expenses. Bates negotiated a deal with a private jet firm to provide his travel from his home in Monaco to Leeds on match days, however the clubs owners GFH capital said he was not within his powers to do this and brought his eight-year often controversial association with the club to a bitter-end.

Bates has since bizarrely set-up offices opposite the South Stand in a small row of shops above a Subway sandwich bar. It is understood he intends to set up a media company and has talked about a brand called Radio Yorkshire. One of Bates's brainchild's was to create a unique sports station attached to the club called Yorkshire Radio, however GFHC promptly took it off air to focus more on LUTV and renegotiated with BBC Radio Leeds to provide match day commentary from Leeds United matches.

Ironically Gwyn Williams is a long-standing ally of Bates, they go back many years from their time spent at Chelsea and he was appointed as our "technical director" in 2006. Neil Warnock, our former boss said he was not sure what Williams actually did but he suspected he was Bates's "eyes and ears" on the ground. Sportsmail today report that Williams was fired for alledgedly forwarding a "viral" email entitled "Dirty Leeds" to another ex Chelsea and Leeds employee Dennis Wise. The email reportedly contained images of naked women in a shower. Williams furiously denies these claims and has vowed to clear his name, as well as sue the club for £250,000 which apparently was the cost of his salary plus benefits package.

An employment judge in Leeds will hear his claim next March.

Lets hope these vile little ex Chelsea men do not take a penny more out of our club.
