Not content with allegedly bidding for Javier Hernandez of Manchester United, Saints seem to want to become a team of Hernandez's

The latest player to be linked with Saints is Palermo's Uruguayan International striker Abel Hernandez, fellow Premier league club Sunderland also seemingly interested for obvious reasons.

Hernandez is currently playing for Serie A side Palermo where he has scored 31 goals in 111 appearances, including 14 in 28 appearances last season, winning 14 caps for Uruguay along the way netting 7 goals.

He has two years on his Palermo contract left meaning that he will be available for a more reasonable fee than his Man Utd namesake, however it should be noted that his agent has been in the country recently drumming up interest in his client and will be trying to put rumours such as this in the press.

However it has to be said that his stats make him one worth looking at, on paper at least, he scored a goal every other game for Palermo last season and turning 24 next week has the combination of youth and experience that is needed in the Saints squad at present.

This could just be his agent stirring things up and trying to generate interest, but this type of signing is the type Koeman is renowned for.
