Hmm... the one he barely played and then shipped out early? I do take your point though - I think he does want a sort of ball playing midfielder who can get it off the defenders and start attacks. I don't think there's anything wrong with that - it is a type of player who if we found the right one would be a massive boost to our team. As Clive says - he wants a Sawyers-type. So far, Amos isn't that. But I think the weaknesses in his game that everyone can see are ones that can be improved. You probably can't do much at 23 to make a player an appreciably better dribbler, for example, but making a player more robust, more commanding, I think you certainly can. Nothing like the same player, but Gareth Barry, for example, was sort of a left sided wing-back/midfielder/defender before he kind of grew into a CDM role. | |

| Amos move made permanent — Signing on 14:28 - Aug 18 with 1142 views | derbyhoop | I think we saw enough of Amos last season to see that he has a lot of good qualities. This is why Warburton rates him but still thinks there is a lot more to come. Especially when you realise how few games he has had at our level and the recovery from a serious injury. But, we also saw the weaknesses, which is why Spurs are prepared to let him go and why he will sign for a mid-table Championship club. If the club and player can strengthen the good parts and overcome some of the weaknesses we will have a really good player on our books. At the right age and a fee that we can just about afford. | |

| Amos move made permanent — Signing on 02:21 - Aug 19 with 873 views | Hoopsie | if he was absolutely tearing it we won't be here doing this deal. For a nurturing club, we find potentials not finished article. our successful loans like wells and now hugill are being snapped up by clubs willing to spend bigger. If amos was as successful, guarantee he won't be here next season, either got bought by someone else with a bigger purse or spurs won't let him go cheap now it is up to our coaches and manager to turn him into a success for the club. hoop so! | |
