Yup. He reminds me of the CFs of the late 50s and early 60s. Big bastards who weren't particularly quick but treated defenders as minor nuisances. |

He's clearly a very cerebral person. His interviews show that. Perhaps it's the reason he took some time to adjust his game to the league, the team, and the coaching. Some players are pretty much 'plug 'n' play' when they join a new club. He clearly isn't.
Patience is a virtue, as the saying goes. His team-mates and us fans are now seeing the truth of that. |

So many. Madsen — who's become the cool, calm pivot and dead-ball specialist we hoped for. Dembélé for getting his shooting instincts under control and having by far his best game so far. Saito for being back to the Kocky Koki of last season. Mbengue for managing to sufficiently control his — errr — ebullience, and let the pure genius show through (what a goal!). RND for putting his last performance well behind him. Koné, for being the "back to the 50s" John Charles sort of finisher you don't see very often these days. And Burrell, who didn't get on the score sheet today, but whose work-rate and constant running created all kinds of possibilities for his teammates.
Just an excellent team performance. Best for I dunno how long. |
