 | News Comment | Swansea City win again at home but frailties exposed at 09:25:46
Agree with you 100%... again ππ! Blackburn's goal was written on a billboard a good 30 seconds before they scored. How on the earth can that be one could ask? Trying to play out from the back when the press was on them! It's all well and good to play out from the back when you have space to work in but when the press is on as Blackburn did the inevitable was there for all to see! One long ball out of defence changes defence into attack right, even if it's a hit and hope! Ethan Galbraith has been off his game for the last to matches and I think the guy needs to be rested. He would be the first to admit that because he know he can do better. Put Josh Key back in and see how he performs. He's showing signs of his former self so why not let him do what he does in his natural position!? A great result but they could have made it easier on themselves! Matos used the term "tired". Then why not put players who haven't played the pitch like Josh Keys? I know it's a learning curve for him too but come on, tired? The game has become about stats now and they in my opinion are a complete waist of time and technically on the day mean nothing! If course we are all the perfectionists rightπ! |
 | News Comment | Frustration again as Matos gets his first draw as Swans head coach at 09:30:11
We need to overload the box when the wide men come to deliver the crosses. Their defence are in caution mode and they just want to get that ball as far away as they can. If they do then we can deal with the aftermath of that. With the pinball option as the crosses come in with numbers in the box it becomes a free for all right! We did see it against Birmingham City at times and wow, it was great football to watch!!! I'm confident when those efforts go in, it will have a knock on effect as the instincts take over! I was great to see Ben hitting those diagonal balls when they were trying the press. It got us out of jail and all of a sudden we were on the front foot again. Reminded of the Ashley Williams day's who did it so well for the Swans and Wales! Patience is called for because I see it coming together nicely and I'm enjoying the football! . I just needs to click and somethings it can take a longer than hoped for. It there for all to see and hitting the bar three times again a half decent side isn't bad at all. I never take a win for granted because it has a habit of coming back and bitting you on the ass. It's on the day and prepping the player's, and that is where the coach comes into his own! |
 | News Comment | Swansea City : Thereβs good news and bad news on an eventful day at the Swans at 23:58:58
Thank you again for the updateπ! Malick YalcouyΓ© staying is great news because the more his playing the better he's seems to get π! I would expect him to be playing on Saturday and hopefully from the start. We are really beginning to look like a sold team now. When we get behind the defence as we are doing now then we need to over load the box and have someone heading for that backpost area. Adah would have bagged a few last Sunday for sure against West Brom! Cheers π» and Come On Ye Swans π¦’ππ |
 | News Comment | Josh Key link with Blackburn Rovers ? Plus Bianchini & Casey at 21:40:36
Josh is a good player for the Swans and if he's happy here then why move him on right. I was puzzled in his lack of form from early in the season. However, I think he has he form again (mojo) and no doubt he will kick on for the rest of the season! |

 | News Comment | Swansea City : Just how many chances do you need ! at 09:39:07
I was of those who put head in hand then putting my hand out in front of me saying What was that? Yep, we dominated this in far more ways than in the league game last week! The one outstanding thing for me was the players willingness to run at the defence (which I referred to after the WBA game last last week!). What I saw was those gaps opened up I mentioned and balls played into those gaps for others to run on to successful. Ronald really benefited from it and his cross into the box were excellent. There were no one coming in to meet them. I saw many great things happening in and around the box because it was evident even the player's were enjoying it! I think Matos is building something special here! Yes, we out played and classed West Brom but it was just a cup game. Yes it's always great to good on a cup run but it can also hamper for the well established reasons! The penalty shootout was a fun time for the fans. They did everything to put off the apposing team, after all fans want their team to win right. Far does to West Brom they didn't let them bother them. They took all their penalties well as we did but it's inevitable someone cracks, pot luck right! I sense once this pattern clicks we are going to see goals, goals and more goals. The amount of times I've head Andy Robinson on BBC radio about just running at the defence runs into 3 digits. He and Trundle made an art of it that was very successful at it! Of course Trundle made a joke of it with his ever end tricks he had in in is locker! As Robo would say, "stick to the basics and you won't go far wrong!!! |
 | News Comment | Swansea City : Rak-Sakyi chances improve dramatically at 10:53:57
I couldn't have said it better myself; "Remember and we keep saying it, thereβs no more free radical as folk. Nobody has all the answers, but making an effort to get close to the answers has never hurt anyone." As a Yorkshire man once said; "There's nothing is stranger than folk" π! Thanks again for the update π Cheers π» |
 | News Comment | Swans scrap it out to beat the Baggies at 12:03:15
One final pointer. The attacking players should not try to guess what the defenders are trying to guess. These little microseconds in decision making makes a big difference who comes out of it best. Knowing these things before going on the pitch will become instinctive and puts the attacker in complete control. Second guessing usually works against you and not for you! It's some tips I've learnt over the years that I would share that you may find useful. The ball is in your court so do what you will with it!!! Come on Ye Swans π£ πππ¦’π«Ά! |
 | News Comment | Swans scrap it out to beat the Baggies at 10:39:10
.... I'm not saying that running onto the defence should be done 100% of the time. Sometimes moving the ball left or right at times kept their defence guessing. Doing this keeps them confused by not know what the on coming player's is going to do. It keeps them on the back foot all the more! If they can predict what the on coming player is going to do then that would hamper our objectives if course even though the 50-50 situation can arise from it. No doubt our boy's are trained to expect the 50-50 situations, but being mindful of them being nervy gives us the edg every time. The boy's don't have put themselves under any pressure if they are the offensive force! |
 | News Comment | Swans scrap it out to beat the Baggies at 10:06:25
I thought everyone in the team were excellent today. At times (getting rarer by the day) we looked pedestrian like coming from out the back. I know the player's need a breather during the game but I'm one of those guy's if you're being squeezed at the back then go long. Putting a ball down the flanks is better for us to run onto instead. Not down the middle where the risk is higher of their keeper is loitering on the outer fringees of his box. It was great to see Josh Key start to run at the defence too. The defence gets nervous and they worry not about not giving a free kick away. It also starts to open up as a result and pushing on rattles their cage! We need more or of these runs at the defence because they produce dividends. All sorts of possibilities arise from it and if not successful then it a 50-50 situation because the area becomes tight again. However, if we win from the 50-50 situation then that rocks their case even more! If we don't they are forced to go long rather than playing their way out of that tight spot and our central defence just pick up the pieces and start the forward move again. The midfielders by this time are back in position ready to receive the ball from the center backs! The point being, rather than going back or side to side which we all hate right, running at the defence opens up endless possibilities we can exploit! Jay F's goal was tipical of the goals he scores and everyone can learn from. Jay scores many not simple goals yet he makes them look simple! The midfielders, wingbacks should be practising this time of shot. He didn't over hit it he placed it the when the space opened up for him. Ronald's tackle made it happen because we were out of possession. Jay simple made that one touch space that gave him time to execute the shot. The other forward moving player's created that nevey situation in their defence because they were expecting him to pass to ball elsewhere!!! Jay didn't need to put any real weight on the ball. It was more like a golf chip with perfection! Yep, there was a lot to be learned from this one goal when you are "Mindful" the defence in front of you are the nervy ones. Jay simply took his goal in his stride without rushing it! Overall, it was a good watch for me with a clean sheet. Even though we under pressure ourselves at times the defense did their job. Looking at West Broms efforts the defence got in the way and closed down any possibilities of the oncoming threat! West Brom didn't score and therefore, a job well done!! |
 | News Comment | Swansea City : Alan Sheehan is going nowhere, so get used to it EXCLUSIVE at 12:33:11
I fully agree to a point and it's about points on the board at the end of a season right!? Yet, the same crown calling for his head right now are the same one's who called to give him the job! No one likes to be put under pressure because it effects everyone around them. The Swansea are known to be a family club right, do family members through a family member overboard when things get touch? Yep, they do! I will keep pipping the same mantra, be patient and wait and see. Sheezy not once but twice pulled us out of a mess twice but the nay sayers keep forgetting this big issue because they have short memories and demanding success and want it now! It's November for goodness sake and should we win on Saturday then everybody will be sucking up to him. They'll take the sweet and easy way rather than having through the tough times first! How many professionals sports men and women go through they tough times before they come good? All of them! Every player now are busting a gut for each other and for the fans and it takes a good coach to do achieve that. They did tell us it was not going to happen over night right but it's seems no one was listening! They pick the juicy bits and through out the rest because they don't want that do they! If you want to have success immediate then it's time to wake up, life don't work that way, or were you born with a silver spoon in your mouth and got everything you wanted by demand it?! It's time for some to grow up and their thumb out of the mouth and stop complaining! All I say is wait and see and if (a big if) things continue to the point of a change is required then let it be so. No one can predict what will happen next week let alone the end of the season! No, I refuse to jump on that bandwagon because people can't get what they want right now! Life isn't like that or have you not noticed? Hard work pays of is the old saying right and every successful person knows this! But nay sayers simply want their fast food and they want it now! Well sorry it doesn't always work that way!! |
 | News Comment | Swans focus : Nathan Jones ready to cause Sheehan more pressure ? at 18:47:06
Great insight how Sheezy may look at these possible options and think the shoe is on the other foot regarding Nathan Jones. We are going there to cause them problems and to with this game outright and take all 3pts. The team is full of confidence as everyone knows their requirements as they've set the standard. The second half against QPR half was exception considering we we down to 10 men. We dominated the game in the middle of park and the defence was solid. We did enough to overcome Norwich City, and the score 1-3 flattered Man City! Against a top side like that the boy's put in a really good shift. If Windell put away his chance the outcome could have been different. It was also Josh Key's best performance of the season as he tied Doku who couldn't get around or past Key. He's found his creative side too that led to our goal against Man City. It was the same on the other side with Tymo. There were many many positives from all these games and it looks Sheezy has found his best starting 11. Of course there's no such thing these day's with so many games right, but I'm sure a lot of good teams in the Championship would love to have Sheezy's headache π! They're starting to gel together nicely now and I personally believe we can beat any team in this home or away. There's a great all around balance to the team and the confidence they now have gives them the ability to what all players like to do. That is to say, go out on the park as a team and take the game to them and doing the very thing Sheezy wants them to do. If they want to play in that starting team then they got earn the right to do so. Compensation amongst the player's is what it's all about right! This team can do it and Sheezy must install that belief into each player and a mindset before each and every game. We are a very good side who are well able, and all the player's have to do is go and do it! Not with over the season mindset but before every game. It's a long haul of a season so why concerning yourself with that. Progression one step at a time. We will take knocks along the way and those who come in are not replacements but deserve to be in there based on their unique individual abilities. The whole team is good enough that is why we have brought them in. Windell has stepped up to the place so why not give Wales a chance and see what he can produce. He's in the squad do give 15mins here and there to show us what he can do. Sometimes we under estimate young players I believe and I have known many as we all have who took their opportunities with both hands! Come on Ye Swans π’ πβ½π¦’π«Ά( |
 | News Comment | Can the Swans turn the tables in what is a pretty insignificant cup fixture ? at 00:28:19
It is going to be a really tough one for us, but who though we'd beat Notts Forest? We won on Saturday and deservedly so and confidence will be high. Man City lost on Saturday so they are beatable. However, it's a Cup game and like the Forest game we have nothing to lose and everything to gain. That gain was a home tie with a really big gun our opponents on Wednesday night. The odds are high in favour of Mancuian side and we Jack's love a good fight when being the underdogs right. Can we win it? No, not on paper anyway. Will we win it? We can only dream, but we need to get behind the lads from the off and simply have fun in doing so! Come on Ye Swans ππππ¦’π! |
 | News Comment | Swansea win : Two cruise missiles from Vipotnik ! at 19:26:13
To boy's can take a lot of confidence from that win that will allows more freedom. Towards the end of the first half we began to back pedal because they got a little to,nervous! After VP's 2nd Sheezy made some excellent changes in the middle of the park. Windell was outstanding and unlike the first half they got closer to the Norwich offence quickly that disrupted their game which was needed! I couldn't sum up VP's two better π, we can expect others to chip in now that we will have this important win under our belt! Come On Ye Swans π¦’β½β½πππ! |
