12 months ago our New Years Day fixture saw the start of a bad run turning hioes of playoffs into fears of relegation. Leta hope this year the opposite is true...though we may might make the playoffs be good to see us climb the table |

makes you wonder why there werent lots of other clubs after his signature. For us it was a similar signing to those at the beginning of our rise twenty years ago. Product if a PL acadamy who wasnt retained like Tate,Monk,Dyer,Gower. I hope we can keep him for all of this season and persuade him to stay and climb to the PL with us but money talks |
 | Forum Reply | How much rotation of the squad will there be ..... at 10:51 31 Dec 2025
need at least one of Cullen or Idah available, its a worry if Vip gets targeted and injured by West Brom. Wales may not be quite ready but we will see I susoect there will be some rotation though I never understand how pro sports oerson can suffer fatigue.... |

what would you have preferred, prerty football and losing or whar we saw tonight? The football under Matos is so much better than that from Sheehan ....there was no pass and move under him...we see some now but tonoght was about getting the away win |

so you ignore the Sheehan factor He faiked ti get a tune out of the squad this season. Even with 9 out of the 11 he finished with last season he steufgled to get us looking anything like we did as ww finished last season . Players like Key,Franco,Cabango have gone backwards and they were not summer signings . Yes given our apparent better window for many years therw was an expextation amongst the fanbase, some more cautious than others. Since the arrival of Matos we look a different side it is unfair to judge the quality of the summer signings bases om our current league positiin we are where we are due to the coaching....signs were there preaeason but many fans dusxounted the poor performances against lower league opposition. Yes the club is to blame ....for appointinf Sheehan to the full time role. Of the signings,Galbraith has proven to be a "gem" now he is being given opportunity Widell shows some promising signs as as Stamenic. Idah I believe was a signing pushed more by O Dea rather than the "scouting" team. We had "successful" windows in the past where not all of the inciming players were hits....including during Luadrups time. Lets wait until the end of the season before writing these players off...lets see how they progress under Matos... |

apparantly he is a big fan of the Spice Girls |

The influence if Sheehan and his team was probably the main factor as whilst much has been discussed about the new players it seems firgitten how players like Cabango ,Franco and not least of all Key had gone backwards this season. |

maybe they will appoint that clever coach Russell Martin he is available... |

I am looking forward to seeing how we fare agaunst a side that wants to olay foitball rather than use fouls and tactixs to slow the game and stop us playing football. I think ( and hope) this is going to be a close encounter and one we could edge |
 | Forum Reply | IN DEPTH Ryan Maye - Twenty five years in coaching now he’s Swansea assistant at 11:30 22 Dec 2025
Sometimes it does need "two" its like Robertos days he brought Graeme Jones as his assistant I think to be the "bad' cop as unlike Roberto he had no attachment to the players. Sometimes it needs two different voices when dealimg with issues. Though a good manager/coach should he capable of delivering constructive critisicm and advice . |

Very insightful article but I fail to understand why there is a reference to a coach whose methods failed not only here but at the two clubs he joined after leaving here...with two different sets of players so maybe it wasnt all thenplayers fault? Is there a concern that Maye might fail too? |
 | Forum Thread | Cabango at 11:22 20 Dec 2025
Has been up for a lot of criticism of late but I thought he was brilliant last night. Not only did he keep Moore quiet but his interceprions and diateibution were so much better than of late. Great header to set up the winner. I was surprised we didnt have Burgess to mark Moore given both their heights but in fairness to Ben he prevented Moore having any real impact |

A focus whichnwas much needed.....its such a shame rhe good work done back then was undone in in some ways when the club was sold in 2016. Who knows where we might have ended up if not for what you guys did back then |
