Coventry City -v- Norwich City Head to Head

Those Norwich City supporters that like a bet might be tempted to gamble against the Canaries this Saturday, if previous form is anything to go by.

Since 1926, in the old English Division Three (South), the tale of two cities involves 96 confrontations between the Sky Blues And Yellows, and from a Yellow standpoint, it isn't all good reading.

Norwich statistics read 24 Wins, 28 Draws and 44 Losses. Out of the 46 games played at Highfield Road and 3 at the Ricoh Arena, Norwich has Drawn 10 games and Won just 3.

Coventry have scored 5 goals in two games against Norwich, the first in the match held on Christmas Eve, 1055, in the old Division 3 South. Although Norwich scored 3 in the game. The next was in the old Division One, this time the day after Boxing Day, 27/12/1977. Another Christmas gift of goals for the neutrals as, this time, Norwich got 4 back.

Norwich scored 6 goals in the game held on 9th April, 1932, but Coventry replied with 2 goals of their own.

The most resounding victory spoils, though, go to Norwich City who, on 5th March, 1930, beat Coventry by 10 goals to 2.

Of course, statistics rarely count for a great deal in football. This time of asking sees both sides in the play-off zone, Coventry one place and one point above Norwich.

Coventry supporters might find it wise to bet with Norwich this time, though. Norwich has not last two games back to back since Paul Lambert took over as manager. And the team lost to Portsmouth last Saturday.
