Two main elements stand out when you consider Norwich City's 2010-11 season. The football has been highly entertaining, for one, and for the other, 25,000-plus supporters have chewed their nails to the quick. The end of the season is as tense as the end of so many matches we have witnessed as Paul Lambert's men refuse to say die.
The Old Farm derby has the added savoury treat in that it will probably decide whether Norwich takes the second automatic promotion spot, or must take their chances in the play off competition.
It hardly matters that Ipswich will want revenge for the drubbing they received at Carrow Road. It hardly matters that our neighbours would love to stymie our promotion chances. No. What matters is whether or not QPR will beat Cardiff City.
Knowing that Cardiff must travel to Turf Moor on the final day of the season, to face a Burnley side who, on paper, look to be chasing the last play off spot is a shot in the arm for Lambert's Green and Yellow Army.
As dangerous as it is to count chickens too early, the last three games of Derby (h), Portsmouth (a) and Coventry City (h) appears far more inviting than Cardiif's last three.
First up is the trip to Deepdale, where Preston still entertain the hope of survival. The same day as we go to Fratton Park, Cardiff will be hosting Middlesborough, a side with little more to play for than pride.
In so many games of this season we have watched as Norwich City snatch a late goal and the victory, or a draw, but still keeping the team in the mix.
The most suspenseful finish to the season of the greatest entertainment proportions would be for Norwich to have a few clean sheets and high rate of goals between now and May 7th, and win automatic promotion on goal difference.
Whether those with dicky tickers could stand such a close finish is debatable. Best avoided if this weekend see a Norwich win and a Cardiff loss.
Oh, and not forgetting, Swansea, who are away to Pompey next Saturday, home to Ipswich, who, as you will no doubt have read, have a feint chance of snatching a play off place, away to Milwall and home to Sheffield Utd.
