Carson to Make Northern Ireland Debut
Midfielder Josh Carson has been named in the Northern Ireland side facing the Republic of Ireland in a Carling Nations Cup match at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Tuesday (Sky Sports One/HD1 7.30pm). The 17-year-old will be winning his first full cap.
Carson, who has previously won caps at U16, U19 and U21 levels, is joined in the team by exiting Blues defender Gareth McAuley, who will skipper the side. Fellow Blue Damien Delaney is in the Republic of Ireland squad.
Northern Ireland: Blayney, Thompson, Cathcart, McAuley, Hodson, Carson, Clingan, Davis, Gorman, Feeney, McQuoid.
