A Big Night In The Championship

Saints fans need to keep their fingers crossed tonight as our rivals look to steal a march on us.

Saints have to sit and watch tonight as most of the Championship play this weeks round of midewwek fixtures a day earlier, with only Cardiff V Saints and Middlesbrough V Leicester taking place on the Wednesday.

Brighton who are hosting their big rivals Palace will look to leapfrog Saints with a win as will Derby who play Barnsley at Pride Park and West Ham who entertain Ipswich, its hard to see anything other than a home win in those fixtures and if thats the case then Saints will drop to fourth at least until Wednesday night.

But it could get worse if Saints fail to win at the Cardiff City Stadium and Boro beat Middlesbrough, that combination would push us down a place further into fifth, so its imperative that we get at least a point at Cardiff, if we did that then it should be enough to push us up a place or two assuming that our rivals did manage that win.

The games come thick and fast over the next 4 weeks, in that period we have six games starting with the trip to Wales and ending with the visit of Middlesbrough, by the end of that game our true standing in this league should be a lot clearer.
