Griffiths Extends Plymouth Loan

Midfielder Jamie Griffiths has extended his loan spell at Plymouth into a second month. The 19-year-old has so far made two starts and three sub appearances for the Pilgrims.

Last week, Blues boss Paul Jewell revealed that Town are paying all Griffiths’s wages while he is with Argyle and that the player is enjoying his time in League Two: "We’re paying his wages. We are officially now a registered charity, but you better not tell Marcus Evans that!”

"I know Jamie spoke to one of the lads and he’s loving the fact that he’s involved in the preparation of matches with the first team.

"It’s a huge learning experience for the kids. I did the same thing when I went to Wigan. I was cocooned at Liverpool thinking that things are done a certain way, but they aren’t.

"The way the preparation is done, the travelling, mentally it’s tiring. It’s all good stuff for them and I want them to come back wanting to do that every week.

"And if they can’t do that here, I want to give them an insight of what it’s like to do it at another club.”

Griffiths, whose one Town appearance came as a late sub in the Carling Cup tie against Northampton last season, will remain at Home Park until November 5th.
