Delph move to ease unrest?

Leeds are apparently trying to push through Fabian Delph's loan move before tomorrow's game with Ipswich Town at ER.

Today's Yorkshire Evening Post report that Fabian Delph is on the verge of a sensational return to ER.

The Aston Villa midfielder moved to Aston Villa for £6m then rated as one of the brightest stars outside the Premiership. However his time in Birmingham has been blighted with injury and it is believed Alex McLeish is happy to send another one of his fringe players out to us. In recent times we have loaned Eric Lichaj, Barry Bannan and Shane Lowry from Villa Park.

Delph made 46 appearances for Leeds prior to his August 2009 transfer, scoring six goals. He has made 25 appearances for Villa without scoring and has four England U21 caps.

If the deal does go through in time for kick-off tomorrow, it may dillute some of the protests planned against the Ken Bates regime in the wake of Johnny Howson's impending transfer to Norwich. However there is still likely to be a vocal element at the game who will call upon the ex-Chelsea chairman to quit the club.
