Vote For Matt Le Tiss For Greatest Prem Goal Ever

A Saints legend needs your support as the Daily Telegraph looks to find the greatest ever Premiership goal aand and Le God has two goals in the top ten to choose from.

"He scores F*cking great goals" was the retort from Saints supporters in the 1990's as our opponents fans mocked the nasal features of unarguably one of the greatest players to ever pull on a Saints shirt and now two of those goals have been named in the top ten goals to be scored in the Premierships 20 year history by the Daily Telegraph and they are asking fans to vote for the best ever.

The other nominees are a whos who of the Premiership, Beckham, Cantona, Di Canio and Shearer, Yeboah, Henry, Rooney & Bergkamp but it is only Matt Le Tissier who has the honour of being nominated twice, indeed it could be said three times because one of the nominations is a double.

The first nomination is the two goals he scored against Newcastle in October 1993 at the Dell, both were classics and for them to be in the same match is typical Le Tissier.

The second in the vote is his long range effort at Ewood park against Blackburn Rovers in December 1994 that left Tim Flowers sprawled in the back of the net, Le God tells the story of how he told Flowers that he would not only score past him but hit the keepers towel wedged in the goal net, perhaps its just a good story but history shows us that Le Tissier did just that.
