Some Matchday Prices Cut

Town have cut some of their matchday ticket prices for 2012/13 season by around 20% and frozen some others. In the wake of last season’s ticketing trials, the club has reduced standard Grade C game adult prices to £20, £25 and £30 with seats for the opening match of the campaign against Blackburn on Saturday 18th August amongst those set at those level. Grade A, B and D prices are frozen.

Chief executive Simon Clegg said: "Blackburn are obviously recently relegated from the Premier League and wouldn’t normally be classed as a Grade C game, but it’s our first Championship match of the season and a good opportunity for us to offer the very competitive ticket prices.

"The ticket price trial was relatively successful last season and we have taken that into consideration with our matchday ticket prices.

"We have kept prices frozen in three categories with a significant reduction in Grade C games but it’s important to recognise the commitment of those fans who purchase season tickets and that will always remain the most cost-efficient way of watching this club.”

Matchday prices have come in for significant criticism in recent seasons, including in the recent TWTD Questionnaire, with many fans feeling they are too high when compared to the pro rata cost of a season ticket.

The Blues will continue to discount the price of tickets purchased before matchday with an additional £2.50 for adults and concessions and £1 for under-16s added to seats bought on the day. Fans buying home match tickets online will not pay booking fees.

Meanwhile, due to the renaming of the East of England Co-operative Stand and the Sir Alf Ramsey Stand, Town are to send all season ticket holders new cards for the campaign ahead.

These are currently being printed and will start to be sent out in the week commencing July 23rd.
