Thompson to Tranmere
The people at Sky Sports are doing their understanding bit again, and are suggesting that a fee has been agreed to take out of contract Joe Thompson to Tranmere.
There has been speculation over the future of Joe Thompson in recent days, and Tranmere had been reported to have put a couple of tentative bids in for the midfielder who came through the ranks at Spotland. There had also been talk of a move to Scotland or Denmark which was probably agent speak aimed at Dale for sticking out for a higher fee.
But if Sky Sports are to be believed, Dale and Tranmere have come to an agreement for Thompson which internet rumours suggest to be in the region of £25,000.
Thompson is currently Dale's longest serving player following the departure of Gary Jones to Bradford, and since making his debut for the club under Steve Parkin, he has gone on to make over 150 appearances for the club with seventeen goals. His contract expired at the end of last season, with Dale entitled to a transfer fee if he moves on due to him being under 24.
