The initial fears were that the Swans would be without their no.1 for three matches, but ref Mr A R Hall confirmed that the dismissal was for preventing a goalscoring opportunity, which means just a one game suspension. John Hollins had no complaint about the red card: " The rules are the rules! The centre forward was through on goal, so the ref had no option." Youngster Carl Mounty was brought off the bench, to make his senior debut, and he came in for praise from Hollins: " I think Carl did well. He made a great save in the first half, and did well to turn Owusu's drive round the post. We have two good young keepers here, Carl and Jason Jones who is fit again. The game is about chances, and one of those pair will have their chance in a couple of weeks time. Let's see if they can take it."
