A Letter To The Vetch

A Letter To The Vetch - Do The Same

Home >Story Index> Season Ticket Holders Letter

This is a letter that I have sent, as a season ticket holder, to John Shuttleworth at the Vetch. You will not be surprised to know that, despite placing a 5-day limit on it for him to reply and the letter being sent by recorded delivery, I have not received a reply.
I think that this is something that all season ticket holders should be asking and this is the reason I have included the text of the letter here. I suggest that this gets either sent by e-mail to the club (info@swanseacity.net) or by post to John Shuttleworth or Mike Lewis, Swansea City AFC, Vetch Field, Swansea
Don't expect a reply but your feelings should be made clear to the powers that be
The text of the letter was

Sir,

I write as a current season ticket holder and am concerned, as others are, about the current financial plight the club finds itself in.

The lack of investment, attempted sacking and sale of players and, I believe, mounting debts, does not instill me with any confidence for the remainder of the season.

All factors point, I am afraid to say, to the demise of the club that we fans love. The consequences will be far reaching, but insofar as season ticket holders are concerned, it will also mean the loss of advance ticket payments.

Mr Petty has very publicly stated that he is genuinely interested in providingfor the future of the club , this despite no personal investment on his part or indeed for that matter, on the part of other directors. This is most disconcerting and effectively means that I must now ask all current directors to provide me with a PERSONALLY SIGNED, WRITTEN, ASSURANCE that sufficient investment will be made, without further delay, from the pledged amounts recently declared in court, and not from decimation of the playing squadthrough sale. Also that such investment will ensure that the club can meet its fixture obligations for the remainder of the season and its contractual obligations to its season ticket holders on the same basis.

In the event that any director is not available to sign the reply, then I would expect you to obtain that director's PERSONAL reassurance, by fax, if necessary and to include that correspondence with your reply, for my records.

I expect a reply to this letter within five working days. This is not unreasonable and in the event that I do not receive your satisfactory reply, ( as outlined above ) then I shall be referring the matter for legal opinion and further action.

Yours faithfully
