Todd was one of eight players released by Nick Cusack last Tuesday as he begins the process of re-building a squad that he hopes will improve on last year's dismal campaign. Todd was ranked by many as a hot prospect for the future and this is clear from the voting in the poll.
Todd played 42 games for the Swans, scoring three goals and drew immediate interest from Bradford City who are watching closely the progress of Todd. However, their financial worries may stop them making a move - the club went into administration last week, a move described as "a result of sheer mismanagement during their Premiership Days"
On his release, Todd said "" I've got to be honest, I'm disappointed. I think I've done really well, I'm a 20 year-old boy who has come in and done a job at centre half. To be fair, it is a very hard league, and for a young player to come in and produce the form that I feel I have over the last two seasons, it's very disappointing.
" I'm gutted in that way, because I love the Swans and I always have. I want to thank the fans for everything, for sticking by me. It's going to be strange no longer being part of the Club, but I'm going to have to get used to it I suppose.
Todd is the cousin of former Swansea and Wales player Dean Saunders, who co-incidentally was also released from the Vetch as a youngster.
Cusack reflecting on the decision to show people like Todd the door said " It's unfortunatefor players like them, but as I've said, we need seasoned campaigners here. I would like nothing more than to give them both another year, but the fact of the matter is I can't rely on promise and potential, I need players here who can deliver the goods now, not in twelve months or more."
Whether you were one of those agreeing or disagreeing with the decision, that decision has been taken and we wish Chris Todd, as with the other released players, all the very best for the future.
We now wait and see what Nick Cusack's plans are for the coming months but it would surprise me if more players were to come in this side of the world cup. However, we hear whispers that Cusack has made contact with players and these will arrive at the Vetch before pre-season training starts in July.
I still believe that Cusack can do us a good job as manager of the club - only time will tell if my belief is right.
