George Burley looks set to bring in a right back on loan.
If reports are correct Saints will sign Philip Ifel on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, although at first glance it appears to be a bi of a risk in that the 20 year old does not have much experience.
What he may bring to the defence though is pace, at 5ft 9 and barely 10 1/2 stone he seems to be in the pacy attacking mode than the rugged category, but that could be just what we need.
The only question is how good is he ? for Spurs he has only made 3 league starts plus another in the league cup and a sub appearance in the same competition, his one Spurs Premiership appearance last season coming in the 3-3 draw at Wigan.
However in 2005/06 season he enjoyed two loan spells at Millwall and wracked up 16 appearances for the South London Club.
So the jury's out on him at the moment, after all we remember the last loan signing fom Spurs, Davenport and what a disaster he was.
If things go smoothly then he could well join the squad for the trip to Sheffield united on Saturday.
