Ticket Problems Persist At White Rock

Ticket Problems Continue

Stories of problems obtaining tickets for both the Fulham and Blackburn games prevail on the message board with people complaining that they are unable to get through to the ticket office on any of the numbers given.

And in addition to that, Jamie Donald, a life long Swans fan sent this e-mail across today to highlight the problems that have occurred

Phil, Great story on the ticket fiasco last week - you managed to voice my frustrations perfectly!. So you can imagine how pleased I was that your prediction of a phone based (if not online) ticket booking system was introduced so soon after your article. Well sadly it's not quite all rosy for anyone living away from Swansea. I managed to get through to the phoneline (01793 616420) shortly after it opened at 11.30am on Friday, to be told they'd have to ring me back. Obviously they didn't ring back - so I called again around 4.30pm - and a chap explained they've had a system problem, and perhaps I could call them back on Saturday, Monday - or if I was really lucky and the system came back later that day, they'd call me after 5pm. I suspect you can guess what (didn't) happened next.... - so I've been trying to call them again today (the day I'm allowed to attend in person to buy - assuming I can take a day off work at short notice, and afford to drive from Swindon and back for no good reason) - and all I get is a nasty shrieking tone, and a recorded message telling me "The other person has hung up". So despite my continued investment in the future of the club (Season Ticket, Trust Membership, Cygnets membership for my daughter, Trust donations, entry in every raffle, fund raiser they send me a leaflet on), and dogged determination to support my hometown club, it seems impossible to join in with the celebration of the opening game - and to attend the testimonial to the greatest player I ever saw in the black and white shirt. Why they can't outsource this to a company that can handle popular events is beyond me (Ticketmaster even sell tickets to the local, somewhat down at heel Swindon Theatre). I dread what'll happen if we ever draw a premiership side in a cup compo!. Perhaps another timely article would give them the kick up the backside they need?. Hope you can help...

It's a bit worrying to know what to suggest to anyone that is experiencing these problems. The club acted swiftly and were to be commended in doing so by the introduction of a ticket line for fans living outside a 25 mile radius of the city but it is understandably frustrating that these fans seemingly cannot get through on the said ticket lines.

All I can do from this point of view is to try and contact the club tomorrow and see what if anything they can offer up to assist with this situation. With a reduced capacity for the Fulham game it is natural that there will be demand and there are, I would guess, many fans like Jamie who are contemplating missing not just the first game but also the chance to pay homage to someone who nobody could doubt is a Swansea legend.

Watch this space as they say......
