Swansea unveiled new manager Roberto Martinez before their League One promotion clash at Yeovil but he saw his injury-hit team lose ground in the play-off race with a 1-0 defeat.
The Swans lost defender Kevin Austin early on which increased the pressure, but Lee Trundle was always dangerous and came closest to getting a goal in the 36th minute when he picked up a misdirected clearance from goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall but lobbed wide.
Yeovil took the lead after 56 minutes when a free-kick on the left by Nathan Jones flicked in for Marcus Stewart to head in from close range.
Later in the game Jones cleared off the line from Andy Robinson as Swansea tried desperately to give their new boss a point.
