Matthew Phillips introduces us to the man who will take charge of the Cardiff City clash
Sunday’s referee is Premiership referee Mike Dean from the Wirral, he has been a League referee since 1997 – he will take charge of his 12th match involving Swansea, we have only won 3 of the 11 so far.
He has been a Premiership referee for 9 seasons and has also officiated in the 2008 FA Cup Final between Portsmouth and Cardiff, as well as the Community Shield in 2004.
So far this season he averages over 3 yellows per game and has sent off 10 players, hopefully Mike Dean can cope in these big derby matches and atmospheres. He has officiated in West Brom v Villa, Sheffield Wed v Sheffield Utd, Chelsea v Arsenal and Spurs v Arsenal this season.
Stats so far this season:
35 Games,
125 Yellows,
10 Reds.
