Swans To Face FC Twente And UD Almería

Swansea City are set to welcome Steve McLaren's FC Twente and La Liga outfit UD Almería to the Liberty Stadium this summer.

As preparations for the next season take shape and with the expected unveiling of new manager Paulo Sousa and his back room staff later this afternoon, putting back football on the agenda after weeks of legal wrangling cannot come soon enough.

FC Twente under the reign of McLaren have been a formidable force in Dutch football and the prospect of facing the organised and skilful Tukkers will be a tough test for the new Portuguese revolution at the club. The former England manager has seen his fortunes in management turn around making the Eanske outfit tough to beat.

Swansea will also welcome Hugo Sánchez's UD Almería to South Wales as part of the Spanish club's British training schedule; Based in the Celtic Manor in Newport, they will also use Newport County's, Newport Stadium as their training facility.

No official confirmation of the fixtures has been forthcoming despite both the Dutch and Spanish club confirming their plans on their respective sites.

The Swans will face FC Twente on the July 18th and just days before the new season commences Sousa and co will face UD Almeria on the 1st of August.
