Painter Ready For New Season
Paulo Sousa has been handed a boost with the news that Marcos Painter is likely to be ready for the season's opener at Leicester
Painter has been out of action since last October, when he ruptured his anterior ligament during the 3-0 home win against Southampton.
But nearing fitness, the 22 year old will return to full training next week when the squad return from their trip to Portugal.
"I'm counting down the days," he told the Evening Post.
"Everything is looking good and as soon as the lads come back from Portugal, I'll be joining full training.
"I have done a few passing drills already and stayed away from the contact, but it's exciting for me to be training properly again."
