Britton Closing In On New Swans Deal?

Leon Britton is reported as being closing in on a new Swans contract extension

The long serving midfielder has been the subject of rumours this season - ranging from interest from Premier League clubs through to being unhappy at the Liberty Stadium and wanting to move back towards London.

But Britton himself says that although he finds it difficult being apart from his daughter, he is ready to commit himself to the club should the contract talks prove successful.

Britton told the Western Mail “There will always be rumours, but I really want to be here

If we can get the terms right, I would love to finish my career here.

“It is a difficult situation with my daughter being in London because obviously I want to spend more time with her. It’s not like I can just pop across after training to see her so it is a bit of a juggling act for me.

“I’m hoping the contract will be sorted soon though. The ball is in Swansea’s court.”
