Dobbie - Middlesbrough Will Be A Tough Test

Stephen Dobbie comes up against his former manager on Sunday and knows it will be a tough test for the Swans

It's like a meeting of old friends for Dobbie who not only will be up against Mowbray but also fellow Scot Kris Boyd and former team mate Kevin Thompson.

All are relatively new additions to the Riverside staff - Mowbray the recent replacement for Gordon Strachan whilst Thompson and Boyd arrived in the summer - the former for £2m.

And Dobbiw first off knows what the arrival of Mowbray can do for the side that was in the relegation zone just a week ago “Once Tony Mowbray goes in there and gets them playing the way he wants I don’t see any reason why they won’t start progressing up the league.

“It will be a tough test for us.

“Kevin is a fantastic player and I am sure when he finds his feet here he will be superb for Middlesbrough.

“He wins the ball in midfield and is a great passer of the ball, so he is a real asset.

“I could see his potential at Hibs and the obviously he got the move to Rangers, and then Boro he’s progressed really well.

“I know Kevin’s abilities so it was no surprise when Middlesbrough paid £2m for him.

“Gordon probably got him for a bit less than he should have gone for.

“Kris Boyd is a great finisher and his record speaks for itself.

“There are some very good Scottish players there and I am sure they will start to do well.”
