Easter - Most Swansea Fans Have Welcomed Me

Jermaine Easter says that most Swans fans have been welcoming to him despite last Friday's Liberty boos

Some in the home section elected to boo his first appearance in a Swansea shirt when he was introduced in the second half but he says that is a minority and they will change their mind if he scores the winner on the road this weekend.

"I heard some boos when I came on last Friday, although I thought it would mainly be from the Millwall fans because I had a spell there," Easter told the Evening Post.

"I suppose it's to be expected (that there will be boos) if you do what I did in the past. There are going to be some fans who will take longer to warm to me than others.

"But if I was to get the winner this weekend, I'm sure everything would be different. Fans cheer when you are winning and boo when you are not, that's the way it works.

"The vast majority of fans I've spoken to in and around the ground have welcomed me, and the boos are just water off a duck's back.

"It went OK for me, but it was difficult because Millwall were well organised and well set up," he added.

"It was difficult to get on the end of anything, but hopefully something might fall my way this weekend.

"I don't think we passed it as well as we can last Friday. Things didn't really go our way, and the lads have told me that's the way it's been going at home in the last few games. But the onus will be on Sheffield United to come and attack us tomorrow, so hopefully there will be more room for the likes of Scott (Sinclair) and Nathan (Dyer) to create things.

"The manager said when I joined that he would give me opportunities, and it was pleasing to be involved against Millwall," Easter said.

"I am training hard to try to push my way into the team. If I can do that, I will then try to score as many goals as I can.

"I'm sure this team will create chances, so hopefully a few of them will come my way."
