Ken keen to Ply his trade with Pilgrims...a match made in Devon?

Ken has bern a bit quiet of late and rumour his next venture may be Plymouth Argyle has emerged in the press.

Haing sold his stake in Leeds United in December, although the exact figure is probably a secret between Ken, GFh and their bankers I bet there is a few million quid burning a hole in his back pocket and maybe the long lunches at the cafe de Paris in Monte Carlo are lingering a little too long for someone with always something to say.

Ken agreed to stay on and help the GFH suits out until the end of season and then take up the role of honorary club president, a title that was vacated following the death in 2011 of George Lascelles, the 7th Earl of Harewood. However this would surely cause a rethink if the speculation is true?

Although Ken was seen at the FA Cup 5th round defeat at the Ethiad, he has been conspicuous by both his absence and silence in recent weeks. His infamous programme notes, a fertile source for libel cases, wilfully insulting fans and forigners have long since ceased and a letter I wrote to him last month has been passed on to a member of staff in line with the customer charter as "the chairman is currently away from the club".

Football does not seem the same with his sabre rattling, Plymouth, currently facing relegation to the Blue Square Premier may arguably face a future of even greater misery under Bates? I've never been to Home Park so I'm not sure If it is in need of a hotel or a casino!

One person who does know Home Park very well and lives down that way is Neil Warnock, Warnock has hinted he may well not be ready to retire just yet and maybe seeks a consultancy role closer to his home! The mind boggles and we can only speculate.

Although I found the Plymouth fans unbelievably smug when I last saw them play us at ER, I have no tangible reason to wish this kind of ill on them. Surely they served their penance when Peter Ridsdale rolled up on their doorstep?
