Saints V Southend The Preview

Saints take on the Shrimpers in a meaningless game for both.

For the first time in four years Saints go into the final game able to enjoy the day, last year there was nothing to play for either but the spectre of relegation was already over the Club as well as administration so it wasnt a joyous occasion.

Only real question will be what side Alan Pardew puts out after criticism from some quarters regarding his selection at Gillingham, hopefully though he will stick to his guns and once again give Aaron Martin, Joseph Mills and others a chance to shine.

However as mentioned in other articles it is perhaps important for Pardew to finish within ten points of the sixth placed club purely for a moral victory.

Hopefully it will be a big crowd who will turn up for what has been a very enjoyable season if not as succesful as we would have liked and hoped.

Of course there will be little break from football this summer with the play offs to watch on TV as well as the World Cup and as soon as that has ended we will be straight into pre season friendlies, however Saturday is a chance for us all to show Alan Pardew and the team our appreciation and a chance to enjoy our last competitive live football for three months.
