Michu - Now It's Aston Villa

Aston Villa are the latest Premier League club to be linked with a move for Swansea striker Michu although his departure from the Liberty Stadium doesn't appear to be any further forward now than it was three weeks ago or even three days ago for that matter.

Michu we know is on his way from Swansea with the club and the player not wanting him to be here but nobody seems keen to make the move for him and take him away from Swansea or could that just be down to the player and representatives wanting more from Swansea than we are prepared to give?

It has been no secret this summer that the two sides to the deal want to part company but such is the fall of the Michu stock nobody seems prepared to take the chance on him for the money the Swans need to get him off the wage bill.

We have been told for weeks that we have been trying to a reach a deal with the player and his representatives but it is relatively clear that the deal is not forthcoming and as clubs show more and more interest nothing seems to materialise into a deal.

With only 10 days left of the transfer window this could of course change very quickly and now it is being reported that Aston Villa could be interested in taking him to Villa Park.

Had we put Michu up for sale two years ago we would have had no host of suitors for him and all ready to pay many millions of pounds to grab him. Now, after almost 18 months of pretty much kicking his heels for most of it, we cannot seem to even attract one bid for him let alone for an amount that will allow a deal to be struck.

I do expect Michu to have moved on by 1st September mind but not sure where or to how and this is, almost daily, becoming a sadder and sadder end for someone who we rated so highly not that long ago.
