Sunderland Make Loan Offer For De Guzman

Not that long after AFC Bournemouth were interested in Jonathan De Guzman then reports have surfaced that Sunderland have made a loan offer for the former Swansea player who spent two years on loan here.

It is reported by Italian broadcaster Sky Italia, the Black Cats have contacted Napoli with an offer to loan De Guzman for the season, with an obligation to buy, likely to be dependent upon a number of performance related factors.

Sunderland have of course had a dreadful start to the season and are likely to be on the hunt for new players ahead of the transfer window closing particularly as they are under pressure to do so by their unimpressed fanbase.

Ironically the Swans have the chance on Saturday to heap more misery on them when the two sides meet at the Stadium of Light with any deal for De Guzman unlikely to be completed before that particular game.

De Guzman is reported to be keen on a move back to the Premier League and we know all too well that he can fit in at this level given his two excellent seasons with us.

Sunderland held a meeting with Napoli officials in Milan yesterday to push forward their bid for De Guzman
