Saints Monitoring Portugese Defender
Saints are being reported to have had scouts at the recent match between Braga and Vitoria Guimaraes a game that ended 3-3
The subject of Saints interest as they took their place in the stands alongside representatives from half of Europe including Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Celta Vigo, PSV Eindhoven and Sampdoria was unclear.
It could have been Egyptian striker Ahmed Hassan but was more likely Braga defender Ricardo Ferreira.
The 23 year old central defender was actually born in Canada although he has been in Portugal for a long period having started his career with Porto before joining AC Milan.
He joined Braga in 2015 and at 6ft 3 has been a towering presence in their defence this season.
He has represented Portugal at every youth level from U17 to U21 but has of yet not won a full cap.
