Smithies says “I want to stay” — Podcast

Goalkeeper Alex Smithies is the guest on this week’s Open All R’s Podcast, discussing his ongoing contract situation and penalty saving miracle work.

Smithies told Open All R’s: "I’ve got 18 months left so there’s no panic from either side. I’d like to stay, hopefully we can get something sorted quite quickly.

"Things often drag on, there’s a lot of things from the club’s point of view they have to deal with, but from my perspective I’d love to stay for the long term future.”

There’s also chat about his penalty saving technique, how he felt he went stale at Huddersfield and needed a move, and his thoughts on QPR’s indifferent form this season.

Host David Fraser is joined by regular panellists Chris Charles, Chris Mendes and Paul Finney along with QPR fan Garry Decaires.
