Jeremy Pied Returns To Training

Saints fans haven't seen a lot of Jeremy Pied since he injured himself at the start of the season but he is now back training with the first team squad.

It was said back in August that Pied would miss the rest of the season after suffering cruciate ligament damage to his knee, his only action had been 11 minutes as a substitute in the opening day draw with Watford after joining the club as an out of contract player in the summer.

But the good news is that he is now back in training, he has been doing work with the U23 squad but has now rejoined the first team group and the question will be whether he does manage to play again this season or if the club will prefer to keep him out of the firing line to give him longer to rest.

Speaking on the club's official website Pied said.

"I am very happy to come back with the first-team, I had some training with the Under-23s two weeks ago, so it was not my first training, but I am happy to come back with the first-team today. "

"It's been very difficult. I'm an ambitious guy, so it has been difficult for me with this injury, but with a lot of work and motivation, and thanks to my teammates and medical staff, everyone in Southampton helped me to have a good rehabilitation. "

"Between six and seven months was very long, but today the worst is behind me and I feel good on the pitch and I am really happy to have this good rehabilitation.”

"Today I feel good and I am happy and ready, step by step, to show to my teammates and the fans, and everybody who believes in me here, my best and to give my best for them.”
