Refwatch - Barnet v Rochdale

Dale’s trip to Barnet on Saturday will be refereed by JACOB MILES.

Probably one of the fittest referees on the list, Jacob is a marathon runner and triathlete. He also umpires tennis at the highest level, having worked at 18 Grand Slams world-wide, while at Wimbledon a couple of years ago, he was a Chair Umpire. (The person on the high chair above the net!)

Saturday will be the Rugby-based official’s first Dale game, but he has taken charge of several previous Barnet matches, most recently their 1-0 defeat at York in April 2023.

At the end of that season Mr Miles was promoted to the National List of officials and last term refereed 21 games across League One, League Two and the various cup competitions.

With the reclassification of the National List for this season, Jacob has still been refereeing in League One and League Two, but he also took charge of Southend v Eastleigh in the National League in September.

Before midweek, when he was due at Stockport v Northampton in League One, Mr Miles had refereed nine games this term, showing 44 yellow cards.
