Swansea City : Sell out Friday ? Delcroix plus Sheehan decision coming

Good news week has resulted in good news off the pitch with the Swansea.com moving towards a home sell out for Fridays fixture in the Championship against Hull City (3pm)

Interim head coach, Alan Sheehan has already proven his worth as a contender for the permanent role at Swansea in many supporters minds. He has proven his flexibility in winning ugly and with flair since he took the role. We do know now that the board are close to making a decision and that may well come before the end of the season. All eyes are on the Easter programme with the aforementioned Hull game and a sold out away support heading to Queens Park Rangers. If anything indicates just how much support the team can gain in a healthy and positive club environment then this is it. There have been a few misdemeanours of late which we have already pointed out at decision making level, however when credit is due that’s also going to make our news headlines. That’s how it works here on the Indy.

There have been more conversations, but as we have reported the Swansea board are still completely torn on the appointment of Alan Sheehan. Another factor that keeps coming up are the other contenders, we are not going to refer to anyone who has been mentioned. The reason being it’s unfair to the current head coach and many suggestions are totally incorrect. We can one hundred percent confirm at no time were Ryan Mason or Rob Edwards even close to being considered.

Our exclusive news of other clubs interested in Alan Sheehan on Sunday was quickly plagiarised on Monday leaving the website in utter disbelief that an allegedly professional journalist would yet again take information from this website without any credit whatsoever. A website that is an official fundraiser for the brain tumour charity. That’s the level of people we are dealing with. And we won’t sit silently by and let this happen.

Battle lines are now drawn. It’s happening far too often.

If the run of success continues on the pitch, we believe from what we have sourced a decision on Sheehan could well be made sooner than people think. And get this ! The club shop online is getting large numbers of visits since the Luka Modrić announcement, the test there will come over time regards a revenue increase.

Fridays game is important not only for Alan Sheehan but for the fans. To continue this favourable unbeaten run with no goals conceded is one reason, but also to display that this is no lucky run of excellent performances. Further success it seems is needed for the club to fall down in his favour, and the Easter games could well cement that. On the match itself - at this early stage we only know of one player having ongoing treatment this week, and one having some recovery work from the weekend. The omission of Hannes Delcroix went pretty much unnoticed on the weekend, we can confirm now he was injured and remains a doubt for the Hull game. Confirmed news is that Lewis O’Brien is fit as is Ben Cabango so they should start against Hull. There will be more news on the Swans tomorrow evening.

Hull City concede goals early in games and can make poor decision making judgements leading to goals and their head coach, Ruben Selles is cautious coming into Fridays game,. I think it's not good enough, not only from the players, it's not good enough from us. There’s always a message to try to play some situations and try to be consistent in how we play, there are also some situations that we need to be bigger in our clearances and not keep ourselves under pressure. Not only that being the second half, actually at the end (of the game) we have an action that I think there were three clear situations when we can just make a big, big clearance and then follow the ball just to apply pressure into the opposition half and we didn't manage to do it. Those are the moments that I need to be more clear about what I want from the team, and that starts with me."

Much of the Tigers season has been defined by individual errors but they did show some fighting spirit coming back to draw 1-1 at home with Coventry on Monday night. But it was a dire game. They also need points in the bag.

The Tigers are by no means safe, and the league table tells the story.

With limited home tickets left there’s only one thing to do, get them before they sell out.

More news and game updates to come.
