Christie in from the cold?

The latest round-up of transfer-speculation.

Former Derby and Middlesbrough striker Malcolm Christie is close to agreeing a deal with Leeds United.

The ex Nuneaton, Derby and Boro striker, who has endured frequent injury problems in the past few years has been training with Leeds with the view to earning a deal.

Leeds wanted Christie to undergo a medical, but (you've guessed it), he injured his back on the same day. However it appears that both parties hope to conclude a deal until the end of the season very soon.

Christie was released by Middlesbrough in the summer. He made just 43 starts in four years and scored seven times a the Riverside. He had an unsuccessful trial period with Hull in September before arriving at Leeds.

Elsewhere, Hearts winger Neil McCann has been linked with a move to Elland Road.

Other reports suggest that Dennis Wise will land Bolton's Lubo Michaelik, a confirmed target, for a bargain £300K. Michaelik was a massive hit with the fans after he joined on-loan fror a short spell around a year ago.

Another confirmed target, Daniel Fox still remains in Dennis Wise's sights. Walsall have agreed a fee with Championship strugglers Colchester, but Fox appears to be in no rush to move down to Essex. Wise appears prepared to hold out, if necessarily to the summer, when Fox will be a free-agent - if he remains a the Bescott.

Although the Jermaine Beckford to Derby link has gone stone-cold, it has been reported that three other Premiership clubs want Leeds' 16-goal superstar in the making; they are Wigan, Bolton and Fulham. We await more "big club" jibes from Dennis imminently.

However one player who will definitely not be wearing a Leeds shirt is Hull defender Damien Dempsey, who has moved to QPR for £1.2m.
