Is a Lee Trundle a little luxury we can't afford?

Showboating huh? But is Trundle on his way back to Bristol?

Lee Trundle's loan-deal is about to expire and there is mixed views on whether or not he will stay with the whites.

At the weekend, his parent club Bristol City seemed to be preparing to welcome him back to Ashton Gate with his Leeds swansong set to be against Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Ground.

However somewhat intriguingly on Monday, Simon Grayson admitted he was weighing up his options on Trundle, so maybe the door was still open?

Trudle's arrival at Leeds was greatly heralded as a coup - his former Swansea team-mate Andy Robinson claimed he would pay money to watch the Scouse-born striker play. Hailed as a much needed injection of glamour in the lower-Division's, (after all he has dated pop-stars you know and became the first non-Premiership player to demand an image rights clause in his contract!) - Trundle scored at Brighton and the move looked a good un!

However he has since succumbed to warming the bench and fluffed a penalty in the fateful defeat at Hereford, where the Leeds fans turned on their heroes.

Although there is a belief that you can play football to get out of this Division ala Swansea and Doncaster, personally I feel the fancy flicks and showboating are a bit too much luxury to have at this level in our current situation outside of the play-off places.

We need blood and thunder types not Carlos Kickaballs!

In my view, Grayson still has not sorted out our wobbly defence! On Monday, he was widely linked with a loan-move for Manchester United winger Lee Martin.

With Leeds waiting on the fitness of Liam Dickinson of Derby County, who played for 45 minutes in their reserves the other day, my own view is that Trundle's Leeds days are somewhat numbered and he will be returning to the south-west to be a self-proclaimed bigger attraction than the........erm Clifton Suspension Bridge.
