Playing Away - Maldon & Tiptree

The U's head to Maldon this Saturday to take on the newly named Maldon & Tiptree FC (kick off 3pm).

The friendly, which is the first game for the rebranded club, is being played at the Wallace Binder Stadium (also known as Park Drive) - home of the U's reserves for the latter half of last season.

If you're planning to drive to the game and have Satnav, then set your route to CM9 5UR Park Drive, otherwise directions are as follows:

Via A12 - leave the A12 at junction 20b (Hatfield Peverel). Take the second left onto Maldon Road (signposted B1019) and continue along this road for 4 miles (note that the B1019 will become the B1018). At the roundabout take the second exit onto the B1018/Heybridge Approach. At the next roundabout after half a mile, take the second exit onto the A414. Follow the A414 taking the second exit at the first roundabout and the second exit at the second roundabout, onto the B1018/Limebrook Way. Follow Limebrook Way, taking the second exit at the first roundabout and second exit at the second roundabout, onto Park Drive. The football ground is then on the right hand side. There is a small car park at the ground.

Via B1022 - Follow signs to Maldon and then the A414 as above.

From Colchester the journey will take around 30 minutes.

It is possible to get to Maldon by train and bus, with the nearest railway stations being Witham and Chelmsford. Please consult National Rail Enquiries for train times and fares and Transport Direct for bus times.

The nearest bus stop to the ground is 'Blackwater Leisure Centre' on Park Drive.

For those fans hoping to have a beer before/after the game, there is a very good clubhouse at the ground.
