The Frankie Friday Music Thread.....RIP 07:01 - Apr 4 with 2054686 viewsLblock

Here I am starting this from my recovery bed and no clue how to link tunes on an iPhone!

Will stick on my offerings from a PC later unless the other knuckles thread is the preference to use?

House classics and dancey dazzlers only, no hijacking from suicide rock please!

In the beginning there was jack.......

Been meaning to update for years.
Can only be one.......

Seconded.

Release Radio was the perfect backdrop for Boxing Day.
Build with some great soul selections by Clint T, into JdL with some eclectic stuff (no Ethiopian goat herder jazz fusion though), on into Tony B with some fantastic choices and then the irrepressible Lee Robson to get the place lively.
I absolutely loved it as I sat at the dinner table getting slowly pissed trying to block everything out.

Music is good of lifeā€¦ play on, play on

The Prog must flow...

You know it's not my "sit at home and listen to" favourite genre but I do love a bit of prog

The John Johnson one is the pick of the bunch for me.
Opening bars to the Sound 5 reminds me of the Fast Eddie track below and I have no idea why!

I'd like to hear this in a dark basement club with a 5k rig and plenty of sub-base accompanied by a single strobe light and a smoke machine

Maybe a lucky half of a saucy little bugger as well

And now for something a bit different

Nice merge of a good few styles there.

I'm off to re-listen to Lee Robson's boxing day set before yet more eating and drinking whereby I'll hopefully forget even my name.

Till tomorrow.... Ajax pal !!

Of course.

Quality tunage. I never got into the UKG,2 step garage thing that came a year or two later but those tracks from Grant Nelsons and the other geezer(cant remember name) who started Kiss fm, you can see/hear it evolving from US garage and House to that UK sound.

It's mad to think that was from 1982 and Larry Levan had the early House sound going on even back then!
