Max Ehmer 15:27 - Nov 26 with 6940 views | QPR_Jim | Out of loan to Gillingham it would seem. It's a shame he's not got many chances with us, instead we're loaning him out to the same level he was playing at 3-4 years ago with Yeovil.
Max Ehmer on 15:31 - Nov 26 with 5370 views | Northernr | He'll get the square root out of fck all out of that, spent the last four years playing at that level. Maybe we can loan him to Spurs? They're short at centre back and once he returns the Spurs apps on his CV will guarantee him a start here.
Max Ehmer on 15:32 - Nov 26 with 5369 views | QPunkR | It is a shame. On the few occasions I've seen him play he's looked like he has the potential. But then we gave up playing our youth players a long old time ago, more's the pity.

Max Ehmer on 15:34 - Nov 26 with 5357 views | MerthyrHoop | Saw him play for the U21s at Cardiff last season in a holding midfield role and he looked the business. Saying that, thought Yun looked atrocious in that game and look at him now!
Max Ehmer on 15:42 - Nov 26 with 5334 views | Jamie | With L1 experience at CB, RB, LB & CM, at any other club it would be bonkers to ship him off again. That said, if Ehmer had been on the bench this weekend, 'Uncle Tone' would've had the directors box waiters looking up on wikipedia for him.

not sure it's bonkers. He's as much chance of getting in the first team as me at the moment so may as well go and play some football. Sure he would go to a championship side if any of them came in for him but not sure any have.

Max Ehmer on 16:20 - Nov 26 with 5225 views | derbyhoop | He will be playing at a better standard than the EDS. But he's already played about 70 games at that level without ever suggesting he deserves a regular place in our first team. Last chance to prove himself? Before being released in the Summer?

Yeah it's a shame as the fault really lies with the abandonment of the combination league where young players like M E would be playing against seasoned pro's from an early age where they could test their metal and learn much more from more experienced older players

Hmm in actual fact, the worst thing that can happen to them is they be given a chance - Hitchcock comes off the bench against Ipswich and scores, never seen again. Harriman gets 90 minutes at Liverpool and is the best QPR player on the pitch, hasn't played a single minute for us since.
Max Ehmer on 16:59 - Nov 26 with 5152 views | adhoc_qpr | It really irked me last season when we gave Oguchi Onyewu a contract to sit on the bench for 3 months last season instead of just using Ehmer. The fact he didn't even get a look in after relegation last time doesn't exactly bode well - unless we get relegated to the conference after a £50m FFP fine i can't see him playing a meaningful minute for the first team...

How many players of our wonderful youth set up have gone to play at a high level? Isn't Hitchcock struggling to start games, Harriman MOM at Liverpool? Our memories play tricks. Our youth set up has been abysmal for decades and playing the likes of Brentford , Southend and Gillingham isn't going to bring through players to play in the Championship , let alone the Premiership. Well maybe I'm being simplistic here but the fact we haven't had a single player come through for several years suggest the problem is us rather than the players. Laws of averages suggest that there would have been a couple of squad players in that time as a minimum. Instead we take young players and repeatedly send them out to the arse-end of nowhere and expect other clubs to nurture them. There's nothing wrong with sending players out on loan but at some point they need to get some game time here else it's all for nothing. There's no reason that max couldn't have been a sub and filled in last season to continue his development in familiar surroundings with the coaches that know him close to hand. He should be playing at Championship level by now as a minimum.

Well exactly, players at QPR stagnate around 18/19/20 because like you say playing Colchester reserves every week is pointless. So they go out on loan, but with zero first team games what sort of a loan are they going to get? If Ehmer had 20 first team apps at QPR he'd get a Championship loan. Instead he has two, so we can only find a league One team for him. There's absolutely no way in any world we were better off picking Bosingwa for the final dozen matches of that season than Harriman. No way.
Max Ehmer on 21:20 - Nov 26 with 5021 views | derbyhoop | The U21s are top of EDS Div 2, despite having Harriman, Sendles-White, Robinson, Doughty, Sutherland, Petrasso out on loan. Joe Lumley has also been out on 2 L2 loans. Coll Donaldson has been injured, Grego-Cox is scoring for the EDS and Ireland U19s. Now Ehmer going out. But, without the loanees, they got stuffed by Reading in the EDS cup. I'm not sure whether the EDS L2 is a poor standard or we have a very decent crop of players between 18 and 22 - probably the best in many a year. Success with the Youth set up is not in winning trophies but in producing players. Maybe, just maybe, 1 of the loanees will graduate to the first team. Even if not, the majority will be capable of playing at L1 level.

Max Ehmer on 21:27 - Nov 26 with 5011 views | baz_qpr | If he or any of them had stood out at L1 level then a lower championship club would have them on at least a 1 month loan. the fact they have not suggests perhaps that L1 is there level and no championship club thinks they will add value to their squads

True enough, and as said with each of Harriman, Ehmer and (to a lesser extent) Hitchcock, they've all looked at least decent when they have been gifted a rare outing. If they played more games we might see that actually they're not too bad

Max Ehmer on 09:48 - Nov 27 with 4881 views | simmo | Ehmer should have played at least 10 games for us last season, especially when we were pissing about playing Luke fckin Young at CB and loaning in massive Americans to sit on the bench. If we are in the Championship next season, I hope he's around. 3 of our current options are nearly twice his age.

Max Ehmer on 11:18 - Nov 27 with 4836 views | derbyhoop | It takes a brave PL manager to blood virtually untried youngsters who may not be good enough to cope. Its ok if you're a Rooney or a Walcott, whose ability is not in doubt. We've got a 67 year manager, with 7 months left on his contract. His goal for this season is to keep us up. Do we really expect him to take risks with players who, probably, aren't good enough. He and/or his staff see the youngsters every day.

No but where that assertion falls down is that our senile manager didn't have a look at *any* of our youth prospects for that cup game at Burton, which is as free a swing as you're likely to get. If his only goal is to keep us up, where would the harm have been in picking a team including some yoofs? Yes there were 3 of them on the bench but did they get on the pitch? No, Leroy b@starding Fer did though
