Rooney Rule for African National Teams? 22:12 - Feb 1 with 3763 viewsThGrimRanger

I would definitely like to see more black managers in english football however I am against the Rooney rule.

Saying that how about the Rooney rule being used for African national managers. Why the hell should we be constantly reminded and made to feel guilty in england about a lack of black managers when white managers for African National teams seems to be standard?

And why aren't there more white guys in reggae bands ? I feel another rule coming on.

To manage at th AFCON it's necessary to be a 60-year-old French speaker who looks like a paedophile.

UB40 probably get radio play listed in the UK more than any reggae artist other than Bob Marley. Then there's the Specials with covers of Toots, Dandy and Prince Buster, Madness covered Prince buster too if I recall......how many people think The Tide is High was originally by Blondie/Madonna/Atomic Kitten (Paragons actually). Snow had a hit with 'Informer' and there were one or two white reggae style pop records in the 1970s....didn't Led Zeppelin do a Reggae track on their 5th Album? Paul McCartney wrote 'Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da' for the Beatles (truly awful!)....and there are probably plenty more that escape me......come to think of it, given that the UK media seems to prefer white reggae I'm really surprised more white people haven't jumped on the bandwagon.

As an aside, with regard to the UK media's approach to reggae, it's Interesting that two black reggae/dancehall artists who have enjoyed multiple UK chart success, Johnny Nash and Shaggy, are both from the US and not Jamaica. Shabba Ranks only reached a wider audience by signing a US record deal, note Ini Kamoze also succeeded via US deals. It is also questionable whether Bob Marley would ever have become as big without Chris Blackwell's London set up? Indeed, it was white Jamaican Chris Blackwell who commercialised ska with Millie Small's 'My Boy Lollipop' in the first place.

PS Reggae is taken as a broad generic term here to cover all the pre and post variants in much the same way that both Big Joe Turner and Beyoncé are, apparently, both R&B artists.

They complain but at the end of the day would just prefer a cushy number. The likes of Crooks, Bright, Wright, Roberts, Salako, Earle, Cole should stop complaining and get of their backsides and do something about it.

Nothing about being lazy, you shouldn't call them that because they are doing other things - you are out of order. However constantly moaning about it and choosing not to do anything about it is down right hypocritical.

i think we should be told.

"...The monkey is never dead, Dealer. The monkey never dies. When you kick him off, he just hides in a corner, waiting his turn."

'Constantly moaning', 'doing nothing about it'. Sigh.
I thought we were playing the making stuff up with exaggerations game. Turns out you believe yours to be factual.

I think the point was using the word "they" when referring to different ethnic groups is some pretty ropey lingusitics

I always deal in facts. Here are some facts, no new training facilities, Harry still picking up his inflated wages, club in huge debt, loans secured against Loftus Rd, SWP on 60k p/w, I can't pass Barton on 70k a week....
