Only tracks from 1967, please. What a year for music and for Rangers!

That reminds me. In October 2017, my band were hire for a 50th birthday.
The lady whose birthday it was said she only wanted us to play songs from 1967.
I wasn't even born then but bloody hell, what a great year.

Can't remember all the songs we played but we definitely did these ones....
You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman by Aretha
Goin Back by Dusty Springfield
Hello Goodbye by The Beatles
Ruby Tuesday by Rolling Stones
Itchy Coo Park by Small Faces
Femme Fatale by Velvet Underground
You Only Live Twice by Nancy Sinatra

In 2016 we had a similar request from a couple who were celebrating their Golden wedding anniversary. They asked us to play songs from 1962 (when they'd met) up to 1966 (when they'd married). That included the song that was number 1 on the day they got married (All or Nothing, Small Faces)
The setlist we came up for that one was really good but in terms of songs released in 1 single calendar year, 1967 was definitely when the 60s peaked musically.

Indeed. But it the song was actually written by Bryan McLean (the second vocalist/writer/ and rhythm guitarist.) Lee and McLean sing harmony on the Forever Changes track.

If you can track it down McLean later recorded a solo version on an album called ifyoubelievein.

Agreed. A bloke I was in a band with played me this back in the day and at first listening it justsounded like middle of the road ordinariness. After a few plays I was hooked. One of John Peel's favourite all time albums I believe.
