Am I missing something? 12:57 - Apr 28 with 2382 views | loftus77 | From local press and BBC: 'It's simple, Rangers have to win against Nottingham Forest on Saturday. A point may be good enough in the end, but with a trip to Norwich City to end the campaign, it would be better to go there knowing they'll be in the Championship next season.' I'm sorry but if its Rangers 0 Forest 5, Blackburn 0 Villa 0, I'm celebrating (sort of)...aren't I? [Post edited 28 Apr 2017 12:57]

The mention that a 1pt "may" be enough is nonsense. 1 pt would mean ALL of the following would have to happen to send us down Blackburn win both games Birmingham win both games Forest win last game We lose at Norwich "Media" love to make it more dramatic than it is!

So in summary, 1 point may be enough?!

Definitely - but it just irks me when you see broadcasters such as the Beeb peddle out this without checking: "A win for Rangers would remove any danger of relegation, but any other result would see them travel to Norwich on the final day of the season with their Championship status in jeopardy." Er...
Am I missing something? on 14:23 - Apr 28 with 2088 views | Juzzie | We don't have to win but doing so means other results don't matter. I'd rather we just got the job done and not have to worry about what anyone else does. I don't even think a draw guarantees safety. Lets say we draw tomorrow and lose 2-0 at Norwich. That puts us on 51 points with -14 GD If Blackburn win both their games 1-0 that puts them on 51 points with -13 GD. They'd go above us by virtue of 1 goal. Then of course, we'd need to rely on Birmingham not winning both their games (4 points is not enough as that would put them on 51 points too but with a GD of around -20) So, yes, we don't have to win but please lets just do it!

It is, and it's easy to check. However, I read the other day that online content is now at such a churn that journalists/reporters at some publications (particularly places like The Mail) are expected to write around 20 articles per day. One every 30 mins. Anyone who's done any kind of writing will know how tough that is, and any reporter worth their salt will claim it to be pretty impossible. I guess the reason at most places, though, is churn and 'fresh' content to keep people coming back which in turn increases ad revenue - which is not a problem at the Beeb of course, so this is merely a rush job not done well! Thank the Lord we've got Clive.

It's only a matter of time before Clive will be asking you to increase your jerks from 6 to 10 and then 20 and then 50 etc. And then it'll be the U21's, the under 18's, the under 16's etc. I reckon by the end of the year he'll have you jerking over the QPR ladies...

"Then of course, we'd need to rely on Birmingham not winning both their games (4 points is not enough as that would put them on 51 points too but with a GD of around -20)" We do have Lynch and Bidwell as half of our back four. Let's hope they can restrict Norwich to single figures!!
