Watching it out my window. It's fcking awful. Whole building is burning, 20 plus storeys. It spread across in about half an hour. I just hope people were able to get out. It's heartbreaking.

The pictures are absolutely shocking. Looks like the whole building is on fire now. Apparently started on the 2nd top floor and worked it's way down.
Obviously hope that everybody was able to get out in time which will be a miracle bearing in mind the time and scale of the fire.

I've got the Power.

Early reports it's a domestic fire that has spread devastatingly fast
Shouldn't happen with modern day regs

Thoughts with all and hope casualties are zero

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Thanks for that info titbit,Lblock.
Please let it be domestic accident not terrorist intent.

All interviews seem to say it was started by a fridge and the bloke whose flat it started in got out. That means the alarm would've been raised quick

The area looks to be evacuated as concerns about the tower collapsing

Serious shit

They were warned!

Looks horrendous and if all the fire protection requirements were not met, then there has to be some serious action taken. The way it went up, I bet this was an accident waiting to happen.

Stories of people jumping from windows, parents throwing children out of windows, people waving their phones from inside their apartments to alert attention. Heartbreaking!

If there is serious fault, then let's hope there is no cover up and those responsible get their comeuppance and not allowed to pay for a white wash of this.

Thru work contacts TFL have been told the building might collapse onto or near the A40.

Sounds shocking. Haven't seen any news or pics yet.

Dont know why we bother. .... but we do!

Awful.
I read the tower block just had a £10 mill refurb ..exterior cladding etc.. sounds to me that could the main cause..
Terrible..

There seems to be a lot of people still in the area.Hopefully the police will extend the excision around the area in case it does collapse.

Thoughts go out to all the residents caught up there. Worst fire I have seen in London for decades. Just awful. RIP to those who have lost their lives.

God I hope everyone got out OK.

This is awful. Echo the thoughts of everyone else, hope everyone got out in time.

If the management group are culpable, my god. The tenant group flagged up warnings again and again, seems like no-one would listen.

Edit - fire brigade have announced there have been fatalities

Lived in it on the 15th floor, for about a year in 1978 when I was a Student.
It was only a few years old then.
Only one stairwell, and only two lifts
It was a shitehole even then, the whole building infested with Cockroaches.

Hope everyone got out safely.

There have been problems at other tower blocks in recent years too - I think the current fire risk assessment procedure will need to be looked at.

What a terrible thing for those poor people.

It looks horrific, especially the pictures/footage from last night.
I really hope it is not as bad as it looks casualty wise.

Reports that the firefighters could not get the dry risers working but with the speed it took hold and the ferocity would it have made much difference

Been in there many times, not a place you want to be trapped in. I hope everyone got out.

Looks like the cladding turned it into the building equivalent of the Hindenberg. (which was painted with a form of rocket fuel)

Jeez that's awful. Especially given all the warnings. I'm sitting in Tower 42 seven miles away and I can see the smoke clearly from here.

Those poor people.

Very sad indeed have been past this block many times being local.

But as a LABOUR man I do wish the mayor of London
