Enjoyed reading this.

Thought I'd start a thread for good writing on footy to while the Summer away. I'll try to dig out a few more.

The Blizzard is brilliant for this, and you can get it from just £3 a quarter for the digital copy (which you can download and read on Kindle)

I love this interview with Dennis Bergkamp, mostly about assists and seeing into the future

There's also this about Alexander Villaplane, France's captain at the first world cup, who became a Nazi collaborator and was executed by the French Resistance

Reading that article I kept thinking 'get to the point'.......fascinating story all the same. When I was in Buenos Aires I visited the Casa Rosada where every Thursday the Mothers Of The Disappeared hold a silent vigil outside. Very moving experience.
In a Maradona biography it tells the story of how the Argentina WC squad arrived in Spain '82 and found out the truth about the Falklands conflict as their govt had told them they were still winning.
And we moan about our governments.
