On the other side of Manchester, situated between a busy dual carriageway and a quiet two-lane suburban road in the Pendleton district of Salford, is the run-down Woolpack pub.
Ha, that's a 5 minute walk from where I work. I'll be honest, I've never been in.

Speaking of pubs in Manchester, I used to regularly cycle past the now-closed Bee Hive pub, next to where Maine Road used to be. It looks like it's now a primary school, but strangely they've kept the pub name on the building too.

I've been trying to find a photo of what may be the flat roof pub to trump almost any other. Anyone remember The Tumbler in Station Road, Hayes?
Flat roofed, violent, attached to some sort of tower block but finished off by a twenty foot high model of a pint of Guinness on its very flat roof. |  |

It's a YMCA now. Still got the giant pint of Guinness on it's roof.
